Chinese Radio FM104.2 is an international joint venture between WTV’s Chinese Radio Broadcasts and China Radio International (CRI). It is an all new bilingual radio channel broadcast in Auckland. Aiming at reviewing the China news to the globe, CRI successfully landed in Auckland on 5th of March 2010 through FM 104.2. Moreover, through SKY TV satellite channel 313 and web streaming on istars.me, the local Chinese and Kiwis can directly get more understanding of China via the progammes of FM 104.2.
With the broadcast of Chinese Radio FM 104.2, it reveals our understanding of modern China. As a service to the audience of Greater Auckland Region, FM 104.2 broadcasts 12 hours in Mandarin and another 12 hours in English. It features CRI’s bilingual programmes targetting at global audience. The English programmes aim to let those local Kiwis know more information of today’s China through news and documentary programmes. On the other hand, it also enables local Chinese update their knowledge about the development of their motherland.
Since the landing of CRI in Auckland, not only the local Kiwis have familiarized the development of modern China, it also tighen up the bonding of local Chinese with their motherland. Obviously, FM 104.2 will be adhered to the mission as a media to develop a communication channel for overseas immigrants, international students and local-born Chinese.
In future, WTV will further cultivate the co-operation with CRI in other scopes so as to develop a strong power of multi-national media. Thus enable all the local Chinese further understand China, live successfully in New Zealand and envision to the World.
